New Delhi:
Rising tensions in the South China Sea have once again drawn global attention as multiple naval exercises and territorial claims intensify in the region. The United States, in coordination with its allies including Japan and Australia, conducted a freedom of navigation operation earlier this week, prompting a sharp response from China.China has accused the U.S. of “provocative actions” and warned of “serious consequences” if foreign navies continue to enter what it calls its territorial waters. Meanwhile, ASEAN countries have expressed concern over the increasing militarization and urged all parties to maintain peace and stability through dialogue.
Experts believe that the South China Sea remains one of the most volatile regions globally due to its strategic importance and rich natural resources. Diplomatic efforts by the United Nations and regional players are ongoing, but a long-term solution appears distance.
